SS Super Sunday #1: Cricket Bonanza

A was the highest wicket taker in the 1983 Cricket World Cup. His son, B also plays for the state C just like his father. B’s wife D is a TV sports journalist who used to work with Zee Sports but currently works with E. F is a former wicketkeeper- batsman who was first selected as a replacement for Nayan Mongia in the Standard Bank Series in South Africa in 1996-97. He took to commentary after an unsuccessful career that was ended by an injury. The injury was similar to that of the legendary Indian captain G. H coached Kenya to an unlikely semi-final berth in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.

I is the state cricket association of C. It manages a stadium named after J. J was a former president of BCCI and of I.  K is also a former president of I, a former Indian captain and India’s highest wicket taker in Tests.
K and G are both recipients of the “L Cricketer of the Year” award. The sports news website M was acquired by L in 2002. E later acquired M in 2007. The current editor of M is N.

B currently plays for O in the Indian Premier League. P played for O in the 2008 and 2009 IPL seasons and fetched the highest bid at the 2012 IPL auction. P’s current team in the IPL is Q. P and Q’s captain are both managed by the sports management company R.

While O was the champion of IPL 2008, S finished last in the same season. S was re-incarnated as T for IPL 2013 after a change of owners. U and V are the mentors of T. U’s son also plays for T. V was the captain of S for IPL 2008. W is the head coach of T and has previously coached X to the 2007 cricket World Cup final.

A coached the India Under-19 team to victory in the 2000 World Cup held in X. Y was the captain of that victorious team.
