Howard dietz was the creator of the logo and motto of MGM.
He was a student of columbia university so he dedicated his logo to his alma-mater's mascot the lion....
so the logo leo the lion was created....

ReplyDeleteThe first one is Roar ee the mascot of Columbia Lions,on whom Howard Dietz(MGM's Chief Publicist) based the company's logo.His inspiration for making the lion roar was Columbia University's fight song "Roar, Lion, Roar"
The second pic is of Theophile Gautier,the French poet who is credited with the use of slogan,Art for art's sake, the Latin version of which appears around the roaring lion in MGM logo.
The third pic is that of Marcus Leow ,who founded MGM.
