DT #643

Their existence is considered to be one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of all time. This duo had prophetic powers and claimed that their unusually green skin colour and the inability to speak the common tongue or eat anything except beans owed to the fact that they lived in an underground village sue north to Suffolk, England. Eventually, they learned to eat other food and lost their green pallor but the boy was sickly and died soon after.

This pair, though unconfirmed by a great author of our time, is widely considered to be the inspiration for two of his major characters in an epic novel series.

Identify the duo, and for brownie points, the novel series and the characters.
