Super Sunday 3: The Colourful Side

Note: Do read the 'How to Play' and 'Caution' sections on the Summer Slam page before attempting to answer the question.

A long connect, fill in all the blanks from A to O, a couple of letters (read I and J) might be missing, do ignore them.

Update 1, Scoring : 3 points for each correct black identification, no points for the "connect". 20 additional points on getting everything correct. Note that this does not reset the question, all previous comments will be taken as is, and the update is not reflective of the answers received so far in any way whatsoever. This update is a part in the error of omission of the scoring system previously by the quizmaster.

A, a famous head of state, was particularly known for her hard-line approach and economic policies that favoured de-regulation, privatization, and lowering of taxes. A’s policies dictated closure of certain public business leading to the loss of a large number of jobs, ultimately culminating into a bitter and long protest against A by the group B which was directly affected by such closures. In this protest of sorts, B was "ironically" joined by a small, but very unlikely group of people, called C. This was a case when two groups from completely different ends of society were united in their common goal against persecution by the government. This “unholy” alliance was termed D by a leading newspaper of the day. Their struggles were recently documented in a recent major movie, E, some decades later.

Also dealing with "one side" of this story, from a different genre, is the movie F, which had released recently, with G as the movie's protagonist, famous for decoding the H, which has known to have shortened one of the most important wars of the 20th century by two years. Belonging to this large set of movies set in the same period of time, the movie K opens with one of the most defining moments of this great war(regarded as the largest amphibious landings in the history of mankind), the L, which celebrated its 71st Anniversary earlier this June, and starred M in the lead role. M, among many other projects, has also starred in the movie N released in 1993, with a similar theme to E. Another "colourful" movie somewhat related to E, was released in 2008, was about the life of O who was the first of our theme here today, to be elected into a public office in the State of California.
