(Clockwise from top left) The first image in the collage is that of the logo of Carnegie Mellon university, Pennsylvania. The big image at the center shows the coat of arms and the motto of the Commonwealth of Massachusettes. Telefonica, as shown on the third image, is a Spanish telecommuunications company. The fifth is a black labrador, symbolic of a black dog that appears on the logo of Lycos. The final image is that of a bursting bubble, which is symbolic of the internet bubble of 1995-2000.
ReplyDeleteThe connections: The founder of Lycos, Michael Loren Mauldin, studied in Carnegie Mellon, and the company itself is based in Massachusettes. The black dog appears on the logo of Lycos. Lycos was acquired by the Spanish telecommunications company, Telefonica, nearthe peak time of the internet bubble.
